Wash them by hand or at 30° with detergent without softener.
This is necessary to relax the absorbent fibers, which will allow for maximum absorbency.
Otherwise, they will not be waterproof. You can wear them for 12 hours!
After wearing them:
Rinse them under running water until it runs completely clear.
Then wash them with the rest of your laundry at 30° with detergent without softener and
let them air dry away from heat sources. Never put them in the
dryer or on a radiator. They will last significantly less long.
You can wash them by hand if you prefer.
