Why Loona?

We live in a time when we have a choice for (almost) everything. Yet, for something so intimate, so close to our body and health, we simply had no choice. The classic hygienic protection that we all know since we entered womanhood, and for which our grandmothers were extremely grateful when it appeared, was invented and industrialized by men. Thank you to them. I want to believe they did the best they could.

Irritations, chafing, stains, and infections are completely normal and acceptable to us because there was no other way. We haven't counted the financial investment and accumulated plastic waste over the 38 years that we menstruate on average during our lives, because it is a necessity and there is no other option.

I'm Jelena, one of you. I went through all the same things for years, but four years ago, I was lucky enough to be curious and give menstrual underwear a chance. The description was great in every way – practicality, comfort, as well as from a health, hygienic, economic, and ecological perspective. But I wasn't sure if it would work. Nevertheless, everything fell into place, and I was truly delighted with the product from the very beginning. In France, where I have lived for 14 years, menstrual underwear is accepted as a regular type of protection. Millions of women worldwide have adopted them as a standard form of hygienic protection and are not looking back. They testify to their effectiveness, excellent results for endometriosis, heavy bleeding, and frequent infections. The explanation is quite simple – bamboo fabric, from which most models for medium-flow cycles are made, has natural ventilation, exceptional absorbency, and helps the body self-regulate its flows.

Loona was created from the desire to enable all women to comfortably spend "those days," which still represent 10 years of our lives! I want to provide women in Serbia and the region with choice, easier periods, and savings.

I hadn't talked about this with my friends in Serbia before because we use the little time we spend together in a nicer way; hygienic protection was not a topic. When my 12-year-old niece entered womanhood, I immediately thought I should suggest period underwear to her if she hadn't already heard of them; it was simply evident. Why should she go through everything her mom, grandma, and I went through? But, in Serbia, they were not easy to find. The only model we found didn't suit her extremely heavy cycles. And so...

I had already tried various options available on the French market; for her, I was looking for special, super super super absorbent ones, and today I present to you the best models that have "passed the tests" and have the best balance of price, design, and absorbency. Both older and younger women, with different constitutions, life needs, and habits, have tried them. Initially reserved and skeptical ("how do you wear that all day and then have to wash them with other laundry?"), their enthusiasm after testing convinced me that every woman should at least try this.

I present them to you with a sincere, friendly recommendation and the wish that you feel no pressure regarding them. That's why I want you to be able to test them at no cost. Buy one, test it during one cycle, and if you are not convinced of the product's usefulness, we will refund your money.
